I'm tired of this crap. There have been so many tornado warnings here. More than I have heard in my life. I never dealt with this in Houston.

Today, right over my house, you could see somewhat of a funnel cloud. It was like looking through a straw. The sirens went off. I tried to open the back balcony door (second floor), and it wouldn't open. Then I pulled it, and the back door flew open. Dust started flying in my eye, so I came back in. Also, it got dark in like two minutes.

We got golf ball sized hail and saw what you saw what looked like a forming of a tornado outside our house. I thought it was pretty cool! California weather is so boring compared to this

You are certainly right. It's cool until it becomes dangerous, and then you're on the first plane back to Cali.

I'll take boring weather any day; serenity in the skies is great!

I'm in Sunnyvale, and the tornado/storm/whatever you wanna call it just passed us. We got out of our tornado shelter just now.

It's still pouring and thundering.

There is no utopia, every place has its problems. You take the good with the bad.
I hope your wrong pope, as we are leaving SoCali in a bit more than a month.

I'm in N.E. Garland by 190 & 78 and we got rain a little bit of wind and small hail for a few minutes. By looking at the radar we barely missed the major hail that popped up over here. Several areas of rotation but missed us. Hubby is over near the Rockwall/Dallas County lines and they said their was a tornado at a intersection that they were literally looking at of which they could not see one at all. About 5 guys got into one guys pantry. LOL!!! I wish I would have been there to get a pic of that.

I do have a gripe. While all the threats were going on over on this side of the metroplex w/ the sirens going off, rotations seen in the sky and on the radars, funnels actually seen, etc the news was doing nothing but showing damage from when it passed thru Haltom City It was only AFTER it had passed right by us and the one where hubby was that they finally came on and said something. GEE THANKS!!!

Well I have no idea what the weather is like in California, but that one user suggested it was boring, so I assumed that there was practically no weather at all. Now as far as Texas' weather, I would be lying to you if I said that it didn't require caution from time to time. Hail, heavy rain, tornadoes, and hurricanes by the coast. It's not so bad that you would have to reconsider living here, though. Even with that said, try to look for a home with a basement.
