Seems we actually have a poster that believes that hardly more than ONE PERSON has ever moved to Dallas from New York. LOL!!! Or some other places as well. That there has never been a "migration" of New Yorkers to Dallas........ funny, I know.

So, where are YOU from?

Originally, I am from Winnipeg in Canada. In 2002, I moved to California to be with my American-born wife. Then in 2005, when her father retired, we all moved to New Mexico. In summer 2010, we are moving out on our own and we decided on the Dallas area. Both of us are going to be teachers. Me - high school Social Science. My wife - special education.

I was born in Cuba. My father flew us (literally, he was a Captain with the Cuban airlines! lol) to Florida on 'vacation' in 1960. We settled there. I was 4 and my brother 18 months. Only place I've ever lived till now. Been in the Dallas area for just over a year now. And likin' it!

I just befriended a woman who is from the Bronx a couple of months ago. She now lives in North Ft. Worth. Guess she's the one!

Born, reared and raised in Texas to parents and grandparents born and reared in Texas. Born in San Antone I've lived there, Fort Worth, Abilene, Houston, Dallas and points in between.

I've met plenty of New Yorkers, mostly while in Houston. Having been associated with Verizon, I know there's some NY'rs in the DFW. I'm sure they don't want to be identified as from New York but got here as fast as they could.

I was born and raised in Boston, then lived for a time in both Lancaster Pa and Washington DC. I've spent the last 20 yrs in Mass (Cape Cod) and can't wait to make the big move to DFW!

I'm a native of West Texas but I know there are a lot of New Yorkers who moved to Dallas with JC Penney when they moved their headquarters several years ago. Some didn't last (mostly the ones who didn't know how to drive) but many are still here.
