The parks in east Allen are pretty impressive in my opinion. Celebration Park with the splash pad and East Bethany Lakes Park are both among the best in DFW. Adding nice amenities like those are how you stabilize prices on the older side of town.

I had no idea Allen was split into East and West. It's hard to tell from a place that lacks a sense of place or as the saying goes, "there's no there, there."

Well it's located on this big road called Central Expressway that splits every city from Dallas to McKinney into east and west.

The problem I have is that the houses on the west side tends to be much more expensive compared to the east. We have some friends that recently purchased a new DR Horton home that was $65/sq ft in east Allen. That kind of deal can't be found in west Allen. The house that we've found is $60 K more than our friends and 300 sq ft smaller in WEST Allen by a very reputable builder. My question is: are we really getting our money's worth by buying West Allen and using a "higher-end" builder?
Your educated opinion please!
I guess OP is long gone but why would anyone who is big on location and higher-end builders, would bother with DRH homes in Allen?
