Is this a crime-ridden area? Noticed on crime reports dot com that several crimes were committed there over the past several days.

I'm not sure where in the Fair Park area the train will stop, but generally the Fair Park area and MLK street are extremely high crime areas, if not the highest crime area in the city.

The stop is in Expo Park - where where Exposition ends at Parry.

millions of people attend events at Fair Park each year without fear for their lives. I usually park my car on the street near the intersection of Exposition and Parry when I go to the Dallas Summer Musicals. And I parked there for the 4th of July extravaganza. I don't see any reason for hysteria over a perceived crime problem.

People can be out-and-out stupid rumormongers.

The immediate area across from the train station is not bad. There are quite a few nice lofts and bars in the area around Exposition. I usually park in that area whenever I go to concerts at Superpages.com Center and just walk through Fair Park, along with many other people, and never felt unsafe at all.

I have several friends that live in Expo Park which is the neighborhood right next to that DART station. None of them have had any problems.

The Expo Park area in front of Fair Park where the main DART station will open in September is perfectly safe. Stop at The Amsterdam and have a beer. I park around there at night all the time...only problem I have ever had is that some of those trees have some messy birds.
