Yea.....that's always a fun one. Halloween in Dallas can range anywhere from very warm to down right cold after a long hot summer. It seems to always be a gamble.

**Fell behind again, but here are the numbers. I'll post the final monthly and meteorological summer figures midweek.**

The statistics are based on National Weather Service climate data and cover the period from August 1 through August 21.

I would definitely avoid all plastic costumes that can't breathe. You don't want to fry the little tike, if it's hot that evening.

If it's breathable material, you can always put on a jacket or extra layer to warm him up for a chilly evening without worrying about sweating.

October-December is an odd time of year in Dallas. You can have evening temps in the 60's up to mid-80's in the same week. Mid-80's can definitely be uncomfortable on a humid day.

Final post of the season. For the fourth consecutive year since the record-setting summer of 2011, the number of 100°F+ days declined from the previous year. There were 13 in 2014, down from 15 in 2013. The average is 18.

The statistics are based on National Weather Service climate data and covers the three-month period (June 1 through August 31) known as meteorological summer.
