Hi,

How long is the commute from one of the apartment complexes in The Legacy Town Center in Plano 75024 to where the 635 meets the 75 on the dallas side? Travel time would be between 7am-7:30am in the morning and in the evening between 4pm - 4:30pm. Mapquest says 22 minutes but I don't know how the traffic would be.

That's about 15 miles. I would take the Dallas North Tollway down to 635(15-20 minutes) and then take 635 over to 75(10 minutes max). Now the afternoon may be a little longer.

In Texas we do not say "the 635" or "the 75," that is something Californians/West Coasters do.

I agree with $DFW8$ on how long it will take to get from DNT to 75 on 635, I might have said 10-15 minutes, but I think it will take longer to get to 635 on DNT from Legacy.

at 7am you will be fine. I drive down through that area at about 6:30. It takes me 26-27 minutes to drive from Alma and Legacy down to my office on the southside of downtown Dallas.

Thanks everyone. It seems like it's a little over my desired commute time. I wanted to keep the commute at a max of 25 minutes.

Ha. Californian cities all do it different ways. San Diego (at least when I lived there) just says 805 to 52 like Texas. LA calls everything by name, so you take the Ventura Freeway to the Hollywood Freeway. San Francisco is the one, I think, that puts "the" in front of everything. They even do it for districts of the city - you can live in The Mission or The Sunset. Imagine how funny it would sound to say you lived in the The Plano or The Richardson. Made me laugh a lot when I first moved to the Bay Area.

I avoid 635 LBJ at all costs! Sometimes it's not too bad though -- about 8 pm. Be sure to listen to the traffic reports on the radio before getting on...
