I can almost hear you saying "seriously" right now. Its the hip expression to use now right? Glad you're keeping up with the times grandma.

Makes me wanna throw up now when I see Greys Anatomy on TV & strangle someone when they say it.

"Seriously" = most over used pop culture catch phrase of 2009.

The bottom line is Garland has more "bad" or "ghetto" areas than frisco does. I dont care what you say you will not convince me that Garland has less crime than Frisco. You can see the ghettoness when you drive through many parts of Garland. Now Im sure there are nice areas as there are nice areas everywhere. But you have to live in a $400k house in order to be in those nice areas.

Dave- You can have your Frisco! Please, be the follower.
I'll stick with my so called "ghettoness".

I not saying anything about the crime, it's the actual FACTS you are denying. Didn't come out of my mouth. I just gave you the info I found regarding those cities.

FYI, you can find houses in the very nice areas of Garland in the 200's. Even Firewheel. My first house in Garland recently sold for $150 and it is in the now area as well. I can back this up easily. Or see for yourself on Real Estate Listings, Homes for Sale and Rental Property Listings – REALTOR.com®
Geesh. Then again, I like that the people I live around don't need to spout off about living in what they seem as "better than others" like some areas.

mom- I also forward the OP a home forsale right around the corner from me. With a 1 1/2 acre lot for $180,000 in a very desirable area of Rowlett. Garland or Rowlett you can't go wrong.

I really don't have a problem with Frisco or the Garland/Rowlett area. I would have moved to Rowlett instead of Mesquite if I would have known 190 was going to be expanded. Frisco is a nice area. Like I stated it is just about a brand new city. You would have a very difficult time finding a Frisco native. For me it would boil down to were my job is located. Garland has a little more character and diversity which may or may not be important to the OP. Frisco is full of cookie cutter neighborhoods which may or may not matter to folks. Again drive thru both areas and make the decision that is best for you and your family.

Thanks for your comments!!
Crime does happen everywhere & -for good & bad- diversity is everywhere too.
In general, I'd say the probability of finding positives is higher in Frisco than in Garland. Rowlett is somewhere in between.
