Hi, I recently got a quote from Myers Pools in Plano, and I was shocked! I built a pool with them in 2005 - the price they quoted me was a near 40% increase!! They are a great company, but the inflation of price in a recession really took me off guard.

I just wanted some recommendations for gunite pool builders and the average prices of pools in 2009. I am looking at doing a free form pool with Oklahoma stone coping, pebble tec, and no spa or heater. Thanks for any suggestions and experience.

The cost of materials has skyrocketed. Trust me. We just did an addition and material costs are NOT dropping. Raw goods are high. Steel prices are high. Concrete is high. All of it higher than it was in 2005 and even from 2 years ago.
