We are moving to McKinney TX and have already rented a house there. I have few questions.

1) What are the better electricity companies to consider for residential electricity? What is the way to go - annual contract v/s variable rate ?

2) What is the average electricity bill for summer and winter for a 2600 Sq foot house ? Need just an estimate.

3) Water and sewer service is provided by the city. Correct me if I am mistaken.

4) We have a three and half years old child and will be looking for a good day school (something like 3-4 hours a day for 3-5 days/week).

5) We are also looking for a good experienced Ob-Gyn physician in the McKinney area.

Thanks in advance.

GG

1. go to powertochoose.org and compare prices and plans. I personally have Gexa and have never had a problem with them.

2. too many variables to give an accurate estimate. could be anywhere from $75 in the winter to $400 in the summer. with good insulation and a fairly new AC you can be in the $100 range year round. gas hot water heater and central heat will help lower your bills too.

3. yes, you'll be billed once a month for them. i believe they put trash service on the same bill.

can't help you on 4 and 5. sorry

1. Agree w/ above powertochoose is the way to compare. I have Bounce and while good price wise, they customer service sucks.

2. Avg. electric bill: summer approx.: $100/per sq. ft. is a good guideline. Winter: $65-70/per sq. ft. depending upon appliances etc. and what you keep your thermostat at.

3. Water is provided by city.

4. I have/had my kids in Primrose. I highly rec them as well as Castle Montessori.

5. Sorry I can't help w/ #5.
