Thanks for all the great suggestions. I got on the waiting list for the Knights of Columbus pool, but apparently the wait is quite long. (They wouldn't even give me an estimate.)

Has anyone tried any of the water parks, like Hawaiian Falls or the one in Rowlett (Wet Zone, or something like that)?

Hawaiian Falls has three locations (Garland, The Colony and in Dallas off of Hampton). I've been to the one in Garland and to the WetZone in Rowlett. I prefer Hawaiian Falls over the WetZone as do the kids. There is a lot more to do at HF and the lazy river is MUCH bigger. The one at the WetZone is VERY narrow and small. There are also more rides for kids that are not quite tall enough to ride the really big waterslides. Hawaiian Falls is also adding on but the new part is not open yet. They added a new pool last year w/ several play things in/around it. There are also more picnic tables, chairs, etc mixed in all around HF.

I have a lot of friends who go to Knights of Columbus and LOVE it. There is, however, a long waiting list to get in. Our elementary school had "skip the wait-list" as an auction item at our annual fundraising auction and it went for hundreds of dollars. It's a hot ticket!
