We are thinking of moving to Celina to get out of the city.

Does anyone live there? Or know anything about it?

Is Frisco the city where you would go to for shopping/mall etc?

Thanks.

Right now you would still have to come into Frisco for most of your shopping.

But, there is a mall planned at 380 and preston (289) so that would mean that in a few years, you wouldn't have to come all the way to Hwy 121 (Stonebriar Mall).

If you don't mind going just a smidge north of Celina and Prosper there is a new community that is really trying to get ahead of the game.

What are you looking for when you "get out of the city"?

To live on a little land more than anything else. Do you think the city will grow to Celina eventually?

I do think it will. 18 years ago a friend of mine bought a home at Frankford on the tollway. I thought it would never grow very far past him. He's smack dab in the center of Dallas these days.

What about Crossroads or Aubrey? A smidge to the west?

Where are you currently?

Remember back in those days when the Tollway ended at Trinity Mills, then became Dallas Parkway, then (IIRC) became a rural two lane road from about Plano Parkway to points further north ?

If I say yes, then I would be dating myself! But, I do.
I also remember when the only thing in Frisco was LaHacienda and "tub clubs"

VCharls - No, I didn't mean to imply that there was anything wrong with Celina. I was just trying to think of an area that you wouldn't look up in 10 years and be in the middle of Dallas.

Celina, Prosper, Gunter.. those are all great towns but they are smack in the middle of the path as Dallas spreads to Oklahoma.

I live in Celina, well my parents do. I am a high school age student that is currently in a early college program. I attended school in Celina from Kindergarten to 6th grade. The schools are terrible. Celina is great at football though if that's what your looking for! They tend to focus a lot on sports. If I had stayed in Celina, I believe that I would have not gone as far as I have academically. Instead, my parents transfered me to Gunter schools 7th grade year. I stayed there until my 10th grade year and then was accepted to a prestigious college program. Gunter schools are great. They are small though and limited on resources, but if you want to move to a small town, that's expected. Gunter is academically one of the best schools in the area for it size.
