???

Southlake is not even in the top 5 academically for school districts in the DFW area. National Merit, state and national science/math/debate winners, AMC (American Mathematic Competitions), top colleges, tracking, etc - Southlake is not even on the radar.

I'd rank the ISDs this way. HP continues to slip as time goes by.

Plano
HP
Flower Mound
Coppell
Feeders into Paschall in FTW
Dallas Magnet/TAMU

Southlake and Allen are fine if you are into sports or band.

The rest of the ISDs you mentioned are good, but now where near the ones I listed.

The one thing Southlake has going for it is good average SAT scores, mostly due to the demographic of wealthy well educated parents, but they have very few kids in the top 1% unlike the other districts I mentioned.

For someone working at airport, Plano is not an ideal choice but commute from West Plano would be significantly shorter than many towns that were mentioned here.
It is 20 minutes to the DFW parking garage from West Plano on PGBT. A bit longer to Love Field depending on the traffic. Once the Wright Amendment restrictions life completely, Love Field will get much busier..
