I've never lived in Frisco, but we've driven around and are liking the Lone Star Ranch development. Anyone have any exposure to this community? Specifically the Lakeside neighborhood?

Any thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks!

Good schools. Go to the Collin Cty Tax Records, do a property search and see who the previous owners have been. You can do all this online.

Or DM me the address and let me search the MLS for possible previous sales. Your agent can do this also.

I did find out that one of the homes is a Shaddock home and the other is a Grand home. Is one builder better than the other?

Personally I would avoid a Grand Homes at all costs. They have a very poor reputation and consistently rank very low in customer satisfaction.

That's the reason I asked about the builder. Grand is 1 of 3 builders I advise my clients to avoid. JMO

The Lone Star Ranch masterplan is excellent... over all has 6 phases. The homes along Beacon Hill drive was the Parade of Homes 2003 location. I have placed 6 families at Lone Star from the Highland & Landstar (Quail Meadow phase) to StoneCreek Custom sections. The KakeHill phase of Lone Star was more value oriented- Mercedes Homes.
****Our homeowners are all very pleased with the schools, community center and neighborhood activities. There is a new Middle School being built to serve this community. Stonelake (south of Lebannon) is the only Grand section with Sotherby. These homes were Grands' top of the line homes and generally have good resale. Grands customer service has improved, just hard to live down their reputation of prior years. Many Sotherby homes were built through out Lone Star and which was a division is Shaddock homes. Shaddock continues to build and develop in this neighborhood- they are highly regarded!
