Hello all, I wanted to know is it possible to find an apartment/townhome in a decent area and school district for 900.00 or less in Dallas?

Yes! Many areas fit your requirement. For example, on Frankfort Road in Far North Dallas, there are some AMLI apartments that are about $850/mo for a big 2 br/ 2 bath with seperate dining room, balcony, w/d in unit, kitchen with island, and attached 1 car garage. They are zoned to Plano ISD, which is a very good suburban school district.

Do you have a job here yet? Find the job first, then worry about housing. DFW is a huge metropolitan area that is about a 2.5 hour drive from the far east suburbs to the far west suburbs. Many will fit your needs.

Thanks for your reply, my husband's job is located in Dallas, but I'm not sure where exactly...he works at HD Supply. We are trying to decide between Dallas or houston because we have the opportunity to go there as well. Thanks so much for the info!

You could try apartments in 75206 in Stonewall Jackson Elementary (Blue Ribbon). Close to everything. Probably would not need to get on freeways - DART stations nearby as well.

I lived in that apartment... if you mean Amli on Frankford. Our rent was $1200 by the time we left 3+ years ago. They're showing $1120 on the website now. We also paid for an additional parking space.

Oh, I see the one you mean now, the "Huntington" but I think they charge extra for the garage and other fees & it probably ends up closer to $1000.

To the OP, I don't think you'll have a problem finding an OK place to live for $900 but I doubt you'll get the garage or the enormous kitchen for that price.
