Is there such a place in Dallas? I was expoloring downtown Dallas today, and really wanted to see the city from up top, but in all of the tall buildings I visited (Reunion tower, ATT building, Renaissance tower,etc..) it seems like you cannot reach top levels if you have no business being in those buildings in the first place. I just can't figure out this city ... It didn't seem visitor friendly today or is it just me?

There's the sky lobby in this bldg: :: Chase Tower ::
It's not at the tippity-top, but it's up there.

I don't really see what's wrong with keeping people out of private businesses who don't have proper appointments and business to do in those locations.

There's a restaurant and/or observatory on top of Reunion tower. I've been to the observatory years ago, but haven't been to the restaurant. I've heard it's pricey.

I'll get there someday - I have a penchant sipping beverages in lofty places.

Get into the roofing business!

I was on the Republic tower II about a year ago. I do commercial roofing estimates and inspections. This tower is 600 feet tall and 50 stories high. It was a great view.

Reunion Tower does have an observation deck but I believe it's still closed for remodeling. No idea when it will reopen. The restaurant up there is a Wolfgang Puck place so it is pricey but you can skip the meal, get a drink at the bar and enjoy the view.

I think I heard this is closed - anyone know?

Chaparral Restaurant - Dallas Restaurants - Dallas Fine Dining, Four Diamond Restaurant - 360Dallas.com

It's the old Chaparral Club - this building also had Ports O' Call restaurant above the Chaparral many years ago:

A lot of interesting nostalgia here: Tiki Central Forums - Topic: Ports O' Call, Dallas, TX (restaurant)

Ghost Bar is at the top of the W. But don't they have a cover charge? And are they open during the day? And it's only 32 stories up.
