What is the average commute time (in minutes) from Grapevine, Flower Mound, Lewisville, Carrollton (North), or Plano to downtown Dallas (historic district)?

Will be commuting into Dallas between 6-7:30AM and returning 5-6PM.

Thanks for your help.

Your early morning commute time will be in your favor - not so much your prime time afternoon commute. But, really, you'd want to leave your house before 7:00am to make the best time. In the afternoon leaving anytime between 5:00 and 6:00 is a beating. What do you mean by historic district of downtown Dallas?

The fastest road to commute on heading north is the Dallas North Tollway. Hwy 75 and I-35 are quite congested during rush hour.

I live 13 miles due north of downtown Dallas - still city of Dallas, but almost to the Collin County line and Plano - and I spent anywhere from 45-90 minutes getting home when leaving the office between 5 and 6. If I stuck with the tollway it was 45-60 minutes most often. If I went 75, it was 60-90 minutes most often.

The heaviest traffic leaving downtown Dallas is heading north so you have volume delays plus any accidents or road closures. Plus, working downtown you have to add the time it takes you to walk between office and parking spot and time to get in/out of the garage. That adds 5-15 minutes depending on your situation. If you can get out of the office at 4:45, you will save a lot of commuting time. I could do my 13 miles in 25-35 minutes on the tollway if I could get out before 5:00.

I can tell you Lewisville / Flower Mound will be between 30 - 45 minutes in the morning, and 45 - 75 minutes at night.
