A group of friends (8 couples total), are looking to go to a lake house for the weekend. We hope it to be a max of 2 hours drive from Dallas, since some ppl would be hauling boats (I have hence narrowed it down to Cedar Creek or Lake Corsicana, but we're def. flexible). Any thoughts on where I can find vacation rentals? We ideally want an 8+ bedroom place, or two to three houses next to each other with a total of 8 bedrooms. We would most prefer to be on the lake, with a boat slip (only 1 house w/ boat slip required). Thanks!

Lake Corsicana? Never heard of such........
Do you mean Richland Chambers Lake?

Might try sites like
VRBO® is Vacation Rentals By Owner (http://www.vrbo.com - broken link)

Back when the Sunday paper was a BIG thing there were always ads in there for vacation home rentals for places all over the state of Texas. You might pick up a copy of Texas Monthly and see what is in the back of it as they do have vacation rentals listed as well. Another option is to also look at Lake Texoma.

try lakehouse.com as well
you can search for rentals

but this weekend?
isn't it supposed to be really bad weather

and just my input--I don't think you are going to find anything with 8 bedrooms around here for rent
that is a glam house--
something like that MIGHT be in the San Antonio/Austin area on Lake Travis but you need a lot of money to build a house that large and that means you can afford to have it stay vacant when it is not rented out or you aren't using it yourself...
you might find houses in the area but just make sure you know what you are getting
my son and his fiancee rented three small houses on north shore of Lake Travis for their wedding house party to stay in and the reality was much worse than the photos
You might try Possum Kingdom lake as well--west of metroplex--really great lake for skiing--very clear water--shore line is pretty much like the moon though--lots of cliffs and few trees--but can have some beautiful sunsets
and Lake Granbury on SW side of FTW is another possible
