This. I always stated that before Houston tries to expand rail and densify the core. It's going to need to widen the sidewalks. I hate how this city throws out the word "urban" and build these "urban" developments, but gives us crappy sidewalks that range from about 3-4 ft wide.

^^The city did just make some kind of ordinance for urban developments, tackling that problem you're talking about.

So does this mean Dallas is getting a Subway or Rapid Transit line? I could really see that working in Big D. Or is it going to be Light Rail underground , in that case its not a subway.

It is light rail that will be partially underground to avoid an at-grade light rail crossing. NOT an actual subway, like some Dallas haters claim to make us look silly.

Do you have any idea how ridiculous your comments come across.

DART is investing in projects to offer North Texas residents alternate transportation options.

No more ridiculous than people saying that Houstonians are hating on
Dallas because we think its not a priority right now.

All i've got to say to your comment is DUH. That's what light rail and transportation agencies are for. You've told me absolutely nothing.

^^And I agree on the "show off" thing. Why else would a company sponsor an Arts District? That's like saying the Texaco Houston Theater District. Doesn't sound right.

It was the title of the artcile.

All a subway entails is that its underground. You guys are thinking of heavy rail subways. All it is that a few stations would be underground downtown. Thats is.
