This moring there was horrible storms. Now it is sunny, and warm, but this morning was so different. We had so much wind and rain where I was, and the power went off for almost 2 hours. It was exciting though. What happened where you were?

thanks

Yep it's sunny here now, looks nice. This morning I saw green skies, so I was looking to the bath tub for shelter :-) I'm a tornado worry-wort though.

Closet Californian.

It was so dark here at about 845am and then the wind picked up and the heavens opened depositing very heavy rainfall. We never did get any hail but the swirling clouds did have me on edge there for a bit, especially after seeing the radar with all the bright red blobs moving southward. Red=BAD..Purple=Go hide in a small closet...LOL

We get some really good afternoon and sometimes during the night thunderstorms here in Tampa, I really enjoy them actually. But, we don't have the threat of a tornado watch/warning with them so THAT makes them more enjoyable, lol. Gotta be careful of the lightning tho.

Oakmont..in Corinth...Denton County...pretty much straight west of Frisco/Little Elm on the other side of Lake Lewisville just off I-35E.

Here's a link to the Oakmont Club and some pics of the surrounding area..not too many folks are familiar with this huge development/neighborhood or even with the suburb of Corinth. Homes range anywhere from the 160's up to the 700's. Lots of trees and very hilly, believe it or not. I keep meaning to take some pics coming into the neighborhood because of all the trees and rolling hills to counter all those who think there are no trees or hills around..and if there are any trees, surely they had to have been planted by the homeowners when they moved in.

Corinth - Isn't that at the end of where the new bridge will connect, El Dorado over to I-35 ?

Close to it..the Lewisville Lake Toll Bridge will enter onto Swisher Road near Lake Dallas and just south of Shady Shores. As Swisher continues west toward I-35, the north side of the street becomes Corinth the closer you get to the freeway. Corinth runs from north of Swisher Road (which eventually turns into Teasley Road as you head further west toward where FM 2499 will eventually cross) up to just past Post Oak Rd at I-35 where Oakmont is located. The Denton city limits line runs sporadically through my neighborhood also so we're that close but most of Oakmont is in Corinth.

I was walking my dog around 9:30am, and it was kinda cloudy, but not threatening. Around 9:50 my carpool arrived and some monster clouds had blew in, and the wind was kicking up. A few minutes after I left the it started raining pretty hard, and not long after that lots of thunder. It cleared up within a few hours and then the sun was out.
