I am looking to relocate to Dallas with my husband and three children all below three years. its our 1st time relocating to the US looking for a home or apartment for two/ three bedrooms below $1000 in a really nice neighbourhood.
- Where are the possible places to live for a family like this
- Looking for a very good community church where are the possible finds.
- How hard is it for new comers to settle in the US in Dallas.
- How available are child psychologist jobs in the Dallas area.
- What can one do with the children if both parents have to work.
- How does one find a job as a worship pastor in Dallas.
I am really new at this please give as much detail as you can and i will appreciate all the help and support i can get. Thank you.

Question #1- Are either of you US citizens? If not, do you have a sponsored work visa? If you don't meet either criteria, it will be impossible to find work that is legal in the US.

Just as I cannot pack a bag and move to your country, you cannot pack a bag and move to mine.

OP didn't ask about jobs, so I'd have to assume that they have right to work (work visa like H1B or something) and a job lined up.

It appeared to me she was asking about jobs.......jobs as a child psychologist and a worship pastor.

A child psychologist must have a minimum of a master's degree....a doctorate is preferable and will increase your employment chances. You must also be licensed. You can get information on the Texas licensing process at Texas State Board of Psychologists - How to Become Licensed (http://www.tsbep.state.tx.us/licensed.html - broken link).

Actually, OP did. S/he asked how to go about finding a job as a pastor, and how the job market is for child psychologists.

Dallas is a huge area, very spread out, so the best thing to do is find the job first then find a home nearby. What exactly is your visa situation? It's not as easy as it might seem to be, until you begin investigating the procedure.

You're right, my mistake, too many things bunched up. Would be nice to see visa status before going further.

I'd be shocked if anyone would hire a child psychologist and help them get an H1B visa. Not exactly a profession that seeks H1B's, but you never know (prospective employers would have to file paperwork, and if there isn't a shortage of skilled workers in a given field, those employers probably won't be looking for people outside the US and helping them relocate here). You'd probably also need state licensure before being granted the H1B visa.

A worship pastor probably wouldn't even qualify under H1B because it's not a "specialty occupation" as defined by INS for H1B, those are usually "professional"/executive occupations.

But maybe OP has US-based sponsors or something to assist with visas or green cards, who knows.
