Waco is a very religious city. It’s a dry county for god’s sake.
Cities aren't religious, people are, and Waco isn't a county, it's in McLennan County which is NOT dry.

You are dodging.

I guess you’ve resorted to this because you can’t refute that (a.) Waco is a religious city, the people, the government, the culture; (b.) Waco is within a dry county.

Now, as I said, nothing wrong with that if it’s what you want. It’s simply the truth. You, on the other hand, seem to be defensive about these truths.

I corrected errors and added NO opinion whatsoever. How does that make me defensive?

I'm sorry! I'll refrain from any further input not relevant to the subject.

First off,as was stated earlier and apparently ignored,McLennan County is not dry.second,I wonder how anyone had the time to meet all 114,000 of Waco's residents to know that they are all so religious.Their jails must be sitting empty,no?

Jess.....just find the area you like with the job you want and then ask specifics on where to live. What part of Penn. are you from? My few trips thru Pennsylvania I really loved the Poconos......absolutley beautiful!

If you've never been to Texas get ready for a weather shock (most likely)! Welcome too! Texans are friendly but we are folks too with some petty squabbles......when you get here please extend our traditions of friendliness whether they are returned or not......it'll make you a wonderful "naturalized" Texan!

Waco is quite a relaxing city , I am in carrollton but have been to waco for quite a few time. It is very easy going city and relaxing. If you are in the mode to get retirement very soon then it is good otherwise you need to be in progressive city.

Regards

Ron

How do you handle the weather shock. We are from Cal and will be visiting our son in Dallas next week. Every day the temp is almost 100. How do you cope. Do people just stay indoors from May to Sept?
