The title company wants the original POA and I only have one. I want them to keep a certified copy. They can even make a copy themselves but I'm getting push back from title company now after the closing. They want the original to file. Does anyone know if this is just them or legal requirement in Texas? Thanks so much

I don't know the answer to your question but the estate lawyer gave me several certified copies of the POA and then executrix so I could handle business. Can't you call and ask for more certified coopies? It's just an imprint on the copy with a signature.

I had a closing about 2 weeks ago and the buyer was deployed before closing. His wife brought the original POA to closing and the title company made a copy.

It could be a requirement by that particular county clerk's office. Which county is the property in?

I bought a house using a POA while my husband was deployed, and I had to let them have my original a week before closing. But it was given back at closing. NO WAY would I have let them keep it!
