Hello,

I'm a Spanish teacher in eastern VA who will be losing their job due to state/district budget cuts , and am considering several places to try relocating by August. I would like info on schools/districts in the area that are solid, high achieving, and not downtown "inner city" type areas to work. I have taught Spanish at all levels for several years and have both a BA/MA.

I would also like info on area housing and where are safe, decent places to consider renting/buying for someone single with a dog (cocker spaniel). I know that obviously the job would help dictate where I'd live, but what are typical rents there for a decent 2 BR apt with W/D fullsize hookups if available? I currently own a townhouse here and would like to find something similar or bigger eventually there - 2BR/2BA, 1250sf with a loft area and @ 150K. From what I've seen online there are lots of places and sfh in this price range - are the neighborhoods good, decent, and safe?

Any/all advice on apartments, school districts to consider applying to in the area, and neighborhoods to consider would be helpful. Thanks!
