I'm moving to Dallas in June. I really wanna know what the nightlife is like down there...What are some names of the popular black clubs?? How about malls?? Restaurants?? Where are they located?? How's the downtown area?? I HAVE TO KNOW these things....I'm from Chicago and this will be a big transition for me....

Oh by the way, how's the college scene in Dallas?? (Not to sound clueless, but what colleges are even in Dallas?) Because I'll probably be transferring to one of the universities within a year or so....Thanks!!!

Dallas is not very entertaining for 18 y.o.'s. Drinking age is 21, serving under age is loss of license. There's malls and restaurants all over town, just depends on where you want to be. If you're looking for black clubs, as in 'don't want to party with no stinkin whities', then you probly thinking of the area south of I-30, south of downtown. As the tune says NYC is the city that never sleeps, downtown Dallas sleeps after 5 p.m.

There's a multi-campus community college, Dallas County Community College
There's a very high dollar university, SMU, Southern Methodist University
North of Dallas, in Denton, is North Texas State University, big on music
In Arlington (in the DFW) is the University of Texas at Arlington, very large school
In a northern part of Dallas is the University of Texas at Dallas
There's probly other schools, might take you some research to locate

There's not really a college scene in Dallas, excepting maybe at SMU and you'd need to buy in to that. Pays in spades when you get a career but costly up front.
