My fiance and I are looking at relocating from Austin due to a great job opportunity for me in Richardson. She would work her engineering job in Irving.
We are looking at Carrollton, Addison and perhaps Richardson for living areas.

Don't worry we're not hippies, we like to take showers, and we're not Austin snobs who think we're better than anyone. We socialize often, and plan on getting out to make new friends.

Any of those cities NOT a good idea with the commute? Any specific town houses in under $1000 that are decent or would we be better to stick to renting a house for our first year?

Addison would be a good choice! Richardson is quite a commute to Irving. Carrollton is also fine but I like the Addison area better for a younger couple. You might also enjoy North Dallas around the Northpark mall or Mockingbird Station....but that would be a longer drive for your gf
