I see in the news Erykah Badu is being fined 500 bux, for the stripping downtown in her video. Does anyone know why she choose the JFK assassination area to bare all? How does Dallas feel about this?

I saw the video on Youtube and didn't see much connection between the song and the JFK assassination. It didn't bother me that she did it, but I can understand why people who were present at the time might object. It just strikes me as an attempt to get publicity. It worked.

Her actions were obscene and disrespectful.

It was great video and profound statement in my opinion. The media has a tendency spin thing and give their opinion instead of just reporting the news. Erykah Badu has had a great track record and has done a lot of community work for the city of Dallas.

I have mixed feelings about this situation. On one hand, it was an inappropriate act. We cannot have nude people prancing around public places in Downtown Dallas. Ms Badu must've known her actions would create a firestorm of publicity. She achieved that effect.

The song is just as bad as all the rest of hers. But hey, free publicity this way.

Aside from that, who cares? It's not that big a deal.

I was thinking the same thing. What kind of "profound statement" did she make by stripping in public? Her actions were self-serving.....I guess when your records aren't selling, you have to do something to get attention.....even if it means making a mockery of John F. Kennedy's assassination.

Her message was about group think. People not thinking for themselves and just going with what their favorite news channel or church or neighbors think. She was right.
