Since the flights were so cheap, Ive just booked my flight from the UK for the 2011 Superbowl.

However I was close to booking a hotel in Arlington, but Ive read a lot on here that perhaps its not the best place to spend the weekend with its lack of transportation.

Where would I be best staying; Dallas or Arlington? Would I be able to get back to Dallas after the game?

Stay in Dallas- either the Uptown or Downtown neighborhoods. Waaay more to do and see in Dallas than Arlington. I am sure there will be plenty of busses & other ways to get to the game.

Hope you get tickets- and have $4k+ to get one.

Ive kept an eye on them in previous years and you can get them for around $2k.

How close is Dallas to Arlington? If there are no buses I imagine taxis will be on double time.

Arlington is about 30 minutes' drive from Dallas. Nope, no buses at all in Arlington unless Dallas Transit does a special for the Super Bowl.

I was thinking private/ charter busses would likely seize the business opportunity.

Just rent a car. It will be much easier in the Dallas area.

What's your budget? The nicer hotels that are in the fun neighborhoods (near dining, shopping, museums/ galleries/ performing arts, & nightlife) are:
In Uptown- Ritz Carlton, Crescent, Stoneleigh, W, Hotel Zaza, Mansion on Turtle Creek
Downtown- The Joule, The Fairmont (very nice, but not as "happening)

The Sheraton downtown is less expensive and still in a good location.
