background: my husband and I live, work, and have family in Grand Prairie. We have just started our own family and as an employer of the school district I know the school administration is going down in a handbasket fast. We have decided to move to either the Mira Lagos or Grand Peninsula communities so we can still live in GP while enrolling our kids in better schools.

Anywho... I've been getting the vibe from other people that Grand Peninsula is better, though I'm not sure why. The schools in both communities seem on par with each other, they share the same homebuilders, etc. Can someone fill me in on the details? Is Grand Peninsula really better than Mira Lagos?

Both areas have been hit pretty hard and there have been a lot of foreclosures mainly in Mira Lagos. You will find that Grand Peninsula has more expensive homes as opposed to Mira Lagos where you get homes from the mid 100s. Both areas are now very low in foreclosures and recovering well. A big part of Mira Lagos has the big power lines going through it too which was a concern for many buyers when I had 2 listings there within the last couple of months. When the homes were not selling many homeowners opted to rent them out.
