Actually, I am suggesting there is an agenda (not from all, but some, including in this thread) against a California burger joint because they are a California burger joint trying to succeed in the Land of Burgers. Just thought that point was worth clarification.

Allen is, on weekends that is. I assume you mean weekends. We either go every weekend or at least drive by. Not crazy busy, but most of the time during the weekend it's very tough to get a table inside to sit at. As long as you have to actively "hunt" for a table, that's busy to me. Drive thru isn't crazy long anymore (some of the time), when we see it it's usually 10-15 cars deep. Still think drive-thru is nutty for In-N-Out when you burn up gas.

Still a lot of OK plates in the parking lots, which leads me to believe that Allen will continue to be busy on weekends with people coming from out of state to the closest In-N-Out to them.

I've got a hunch that after In N Out opens all of its D/FW locations, they will branch out to other Texas cities (Houston, Austin, & San Antonio). Maybe even the mid size cities like Denton, Tyler, & Waco.

They're just "testing the waters" in the Texas market with Dallas first.

I remember In-n-Out when they were strictly an L.A./SoCal chain when I lived in L.A. in the 80's. Back then they were great. Tops. Nobody could touch 'em at the time. They always lived up to their promise of "all-fresh, all the time". In 1990 I left L.A. and didn't see an In-n-Out for about another 10 years until they opened their first Phoenix location while I was living there. It was still good, but something seemed a little less... fresh about it than what I remembered. Then I moved to Las Vegas a few years later and during the 3 years I lived there, I noticed the quality of In-n-Out was taking a nose-dive. One thing I've noticed is that anytime a place that is highly revered in it's local region begins to mass-expand and mass-produce, the product suffers.

Which is why Whataburger is still so great...they've stayed true to their Texas roots.

Not true, whataburger covers a larger area than InNout, by far. Arizona to Florida......and they're just as mediocre in those states as they are in Texas

....have not heard an account like brewzzers, theres been many many former SoCal people, including myself, on this board and Ive not had that experience. In N Out has amazing consistency

I think there is probably more meat on a MacDouble than there is on a Double Double.
