Definitely sounds like a true story to me.

True story, and you heard it here on the internet. I have an environmental consulting firm, with a company name, very similar to the construction company's name. I get calls for them every once in a while, because Directory Assistance gives callers my number.

Haha. It is kind of strange they got a call about InNOut Burger. So this story is recent development?

Hmm, I don't know, maybe I had better get someone out there to put a fire under that other firm.

About as recent as it can get - this morning around 5, and I was sleeping really hard through the storm. I still have the message on my voice mail. Wish I could upload that.

That stinks. Our business phone number is one digit off from another business and the calls we get........ ROTFL! I swear one day I'm really going to mess w/ one of those callers. In a good way of course.

Grand Opening

I'm seriously thinking that they should do something different for their grand openings. They could do what Chick-Fil-A did recently to announce their spicy chicken mini biscuits. You had to go online and pick a time slot for you to visit the store for your free sample. You had to go on THAT day at THAT time to THAT location.

Or,
they could do the old Baskin Robbins method where you pulled a number. Except they could start doing it a few days in advance and instead of numbers you get a date and time.

I could do that too. My number is one digit off from the Dallas Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse, they have even published literature with my number on it. People are always wanting to get in one of my programs. I don't fool around with them though, they sound like they really need their services. However, I also get calls from people trying to call some "gentlemen's" club, with a similar name to my firm, calling for directions. Now they are fair game
