Nice looking, new apartments situated between the Wylie HS Stadium and the Jr High (7 -8th). The apartments look out over Founders Park - soccer and softball/baseball complex. You could then look in the surrounding areas for permanent housing and not have to change schools. That would include Wylie, parts of Murphy, Sachse, St. Paul and some others I am forgetting, all of which have some of that small town feel. Good luck!

Just started researching. We have a 3 and 5 year old. Looking for good school systems, planned community with pool/clubhouse social events. Any suggestions? Also love the small town feel.Lots of land not a priority....

You should look at Maxwell Creek in Murphy with Wylie ISD. Tibbals Elementary is in the neighborhood K - 4th, amazing pool with waterslides, lots of young families. You can get decent size lots. Resale homes up to about nine years old and still three builders in the neighborhood doing new construction. If you want more specific information, let me know. I am a Mom of three older kids that relocated here about a year ago. Still getting acclimated. We definitely got the most house for the money here during a down economy. Down to earth people with no keeping up with the Jonses attitudes. Small town feel - yes - Wylie has what I might call a community proud population of easy going folks. One might call some of them "red necks" as you will see some obnoxious pick up trucks with loud mufflers, interesting tatoos, etc. Then again I am not a native Texan.

I thought McKinney had a small historic downtown appeal?
