I really want to move, and I have been focusing in on the Dallas area. However, I have never moved before and have no idea where to start. I am a single female so I am just looking for an apartment (not moving a whole family or anything). And I don't know anyone in the area.

So how in the world do you go about moving? Do you find a job first? A apartment first? About how much money should you have?

And those of you in Dallas, would you suggest the move?

Any advice, thanks in advance!!

I am in the same exact boat as you. I moved here with no job. Employers won't want to talk to you unless you're local.

Unless you have a job though be prepared to pre-pay a six month lease. The place I'm in rent is ~$550 a month rent. I am near both George Bush Turnpike and North Dallas Tollway.

Sometimes in life you have to take a chance. It's why I moved... That and I'm escaping the 2nd worst job market in the country.

I'm thinking about moving to Dallas too. I'm not to worried about finding a job though. What I do, I can pretty much do it anywhere. I've been looking online at apartments and working w some good people. If you want let me know and I can get you in contact with them!
