Does anyone have a link to drawings of what the completed bridge will look like?

So, they're using Italian steel because it's cheaper? Why is it cheaper? Is it quality or labor costs? Or, could be a good ol' boy deal?

American workers lose again.

All levels of government should be REQUIRED to use American-made products and companies whenever possible.

Wow this looks totally unnecessarily overkill but that's how Dallas rolls.

It will be beautiful once completed.

It all good, it passed through the Port of Houston!

Cut into 25 segments, the steel spent weeks on ships traveling from Italy to Houston last year, and then was brought to Dallas in a specially licensed convoy.
But SERIOUSLY, 117 million dollars could've gone to far more better uses that an extravagant bridge. I hope it's worth it for Dallas' sake, in the end.

The bridge itself looks intresting enough, but doubt it will do for Dallas what the Golden Gate Bridge does for SF, and of course, nothing will ever be built to match the Eiffel Tower's enormous symbolism and stature that it embodies for not just Paris, but France in its entireity. With that said, I'll hold my breath a little until its completed to really comment on it.

Congrats Dallas.

I said the same exact thing about this bridge a year or so ago.

Yeah but he's right though. That's what the Dallas room was specifically made for. For Dallas news.

They could have certainly gone for something more utilitarian. Especially in light of DART's budget severe budget woes and I bet the city's budget isn't doing well in this economy either.

But Dallas being Dallas, they will go big and expensive.
