I have still not warmed up to it but there must be some reason why everyone is raving about it. I need to see it in person, but until then, I am with you on that, it did seem too me like a giant pvc paperclip.

I think I do. My uncle is driving from Orlando to FW in a few weeks, so maybe I will go visit him and see the bridge at the same time. the renderings look nice, but the majority of those things do.

I am jealous things get done so much more quickly in Dallas than San Antonio. It is ridiculous that a bridge is getting done quicker than some road constructions here in San Antonio. If SA would do things the way Dallas does, then it would not be two decades behind the rest.

Dallas has more rich bossy people than San Antonio. They will push for things much more in DFW than in SA.

New roads nowadays are often accompanied by tolls. SA isn't ready or willing for tollroads to come

I drive by it a lot, and like I said before, it's not as dominating as you would think. This may be because the arch is not closer to Downtown. This is from my perspectives driving down 35E (both directions) and both directions on 30.

This area floods, right? Otherwise, what's the reason to have a bridge? It's gonna be cool looking but I hope it was privately funded (ha).

There is no real reason to have the bridge, since it's not really connecting anything (new at least). It's more for show and to tie in with Dallas' Trinity River project.
