Hi All...

Can anyone refer me to websites in TX area that will give me a good breakdown of crime statistics by street and/or area? Looking at Irving especially.

Any ideas of places to rent just outside of las Colinas/Valley ranch area that aren't super expensive, but yet in a nice safe area? ...not looking for upscale prices or upscale living. Above average is fine with me.

The various police departments should publish that sort of information. The Dallas PD should have maps showing the location of burglaries and so forth.

One problem you'll find is that the poorer neighborhoods don't necessarily call the police and report crimes. I never heard of a gang complaining to the cops that some other gang drove by and shot them up.

It looks like on Irving police department's website there is supposed to be a searchable data base where you can put a street name in and get crime stats, but it's under construction. 2005 looked available however.
