Hi,

My sister is coming to visit from overseas and will be leaving from the Dayton airport when the visit is over. Unfortunately, I live and work in West Chester/ Mason area; I will be driving her there that morning, and have to be back at work by 8:30 am.

I am wondering how early we need to leave in order to make this happen? Her flight is not until mid-day, so that isn't the issue...just my work. I know that the stretch on I-75 south of Dayton is one of the worst in the country during rush hour.

I am thinking if we leave by 5 am I can be back by 8:30?

Does anyone know for sure?

Thanks!!

Well, that is a double whammy because you have to deal with the Cincy traffic and then the construction traffic in downtown Dayton. I would also post this on the Cincinnati forum, but I think you should be fine. Keep in mind I have not actually done this particular trip all at once.

I think that is more than reasonable.

Take a half-day if you can. Otherwise, you should be fine, of course barring no accidents in downtown Dayton's construction zone.

A good bet is to map the route in Google Maps, then use the traffic option to estimate travel time.

Click the Traffic option in the top-right (under the Maps / Satellite button) to check it, then change the little traffic window on the bottom-left from Live Traffic to the Day / Time you want.
