Could anyone tell me about this neighborhood? Is it a good or bad neighborhood? We are looking at a house in that area and have never lived in Dayton.

Wayne Avenue stretches through, and borders several neighborhoods. Downtown, Oregon District, South Park, Twin Towers, Walnut Hills, and Linden Heights. Can you be a little more more specific on which hood you are looking at or where on Wayne Ave?

Like Tom said, depends where on Wayne. Some places I'd live, some places I probably would not.

South Park Twin Towers is definitely rough, slightly better towards the Smithville and Wayne area, but that's like saying cod liver oil beats a kick in the pants!

Uhh, South Park is not rough. It has received national awards before for being such a great neighborhood. Twin Towers is as you say. Smithville and Wayne area borders Linden Heights and Belmont and are nice areas, so let's not give the wrong impression.

South Park isn't rough at all. I've lived there for 5 years and while every older neighborhood has a few sketchy moments sometimes, it's mostly full of young professionals, couples, families, etc. The only thing I find sad about SP is that the housing bubble burst before more rehabbing/flipping could be done, so every single street is a strange mishmash of landlord-owned, not-quite-perfect homes that would go at auction for 50K next to places that sell for twice that which are all fixed up and gorgeous.
