The analysis will provide a task force selected by Mayor Nan Whaley with data
and cost estimates of various proposed uses and demolition scenarios for the
structures.
..yeah, and who is on that task force? That would be interesting to know. Cynical me is that the consultants (AKA hired guns) have been given "the answer" and now make their findings fit the solution.

redevelop Wright-Dunbar? Again? I thought they already redeveloped it back around the 100 years flight thing over 10 years ago?

^ that's what I thought too. The business district needs help, but the residential areas there are among the best in Dayton city limits. And that area is it's lowest crime spot, at least from what I've casually observed over my years checking the Dayton neighborhood crime maps.

As for the arcade, Jeff, you bring up an excellent point. Rauch is most likely already sitting at the table... Let's hope for Dayton's sake though that he is not.

Steve Rauch is a regular donor to the Montgomery County Democrats.... past and present recipients of his money include Rhine McLin, Clayton Luckie, and Nan.

Sadly, I think there may be nothing left to do but tear down the building at this point. There's no tenant who could occupy the building, it's not really economically feasible to rehab it... and all the shopping (its historical use) has relocated along the I-675 corridor.

I still think it's best use would be as some sort of casino, but that won't happen.

Thanks. I just love all of the news that there is now. We may not be back, and may be a long way from it, but it is completely different than it was even 5 years ago. No longer are there a few rumors which lead to mostly nothing. Now there are a lot of rumors and a lot of those actually happen.

I didn't know where to put this, as it doesn't really have to do with development, but I thought it was a good read.
