Hey there. I used to live in Cincinnati so I'm very familiar with LaRosa's. I'm going to be visiting Dayton soon to run a race and pizza is generally my go-to food the night before. I see that Marion's is considered among the top places for pizza in Dayton. Since I live in FL now, I go nuts when I return to Cincy for the opportunity to eat LaRosa's and I know they're in Dayton too. But I'm open to trying something unique to Dayton since I don't know the city all that well.

So the obvious question is this... Marion's, it's that good I guess? Because LaRosa's is pretty killer in my opinion. I see there's a Marion's on Dixie Dr near the Wagner Ford and I-75 exit and I think that's closest to where I'll be staying (near the airport). Hopefully that's a good location? (referring to the restaurant).

I have been to that Marion's location for lunch a few times, and it is really good. I like Marion's pizza but it is quite different than LaRosa's. Personally I prefer LaRosa's but occasionally get Marion's, just for variety.

I think what makes LaRosa's so good in my opinion is the sauce. And it smells amazing too.

Marion's is way better, LaRosa's sauce is too sweet, Marion's is cut into much smaller squares than LaRosa's, much like Cassano's and the crust is slightly thinner. I have not been to the Dixie Dr. location but have been to all the others. Robert Pollard shot part of his video for the song Love Is Stronger Than Witchcraft at the Patterson Road location.

I like Marion's more, but both are good. I've only been to the Kettering and Oakwood locations though.

I really enjoy them both, but they are different pizzas, if you know what I mean.

N Dixie is a very nice restaurant. We've been there a number of times. I work in Covington, and got so tired of people talking about LaRosa's being the best. I took in a Cassano's pizza one night, and they all were amazed of how much better it was. But give me Marion's over any other anyrtime.

Thanks for the tip! Sounds like a good unbiased opinion. I'm leaning towards trying Marion's, since I'm hitting up Cincy for a bit afterward, might get in my LaRosa's too later.

I never really cared for LaBullBoxer31. Nothing really special about it. Just generic pizza.

But the St. Louis style pizza with a Dayton twist of Marion's(the best), Cassano's, Classic Pizza in Huber, Eagle in New Albany, and others like them is something I loved and is really the only thing I miss since moving away. Can't find anything like that out here in WA.

I think you can get Cassano's shipped to you. I got too busy to finish exploring the matter, but look up Cassano's online.
