After buying a home, I found myself in Home Depot a few days a week. I've been able to save 17% on ALL purchases. Follow these two easy steps:

1: Go to Home | The Home Depot - Moving. Sign up using a throw-away email address service (such as mailinator.com).

The great thing about mailinator.com is that you don't have to sign up for an email address. Just send an email to anything@mailinator.com (replace anything with... well... anything you want.) Go to mailinator.com and check that address to receive your emails.

You'll get an email at the address you used with a link to a coupon for 10% off purchases up to $2000. It's valid for 1 month. You can sign up as many times as you want as long as you use a different email address each time.

2: This one takes a little planning in advance. Go to Gift Card Exchange - Buy, Sell, Swap - Free Shipping - Plastic Jungle. Purchase Home Depot Gift Cards for 7% off. There's no shipping cost, and they arrive within a few days.

10%+7%=17% off!

I always keep a stack of 10% off coupons on my desk, even when I don't have discounted gift cards available. I never go to Home Depot without one of these coupons.

Happy shopping!

Sure is worth the few extra steps, especially if you have several home improvement purchases to make or are buying a larger item. This is great....and right before my summer living room/dining room re-painting time.

I shop a lot at homedepot.com -- but , for this discount, I can find someone to go into a brick-and-mortar store for me. Thanks, MSU!!

Hmm, it appears they aren't offering the 10% off coupon anymore. Can anyone confirm this?

If you stop at your local post office you can pick up a few change of address packs. Inside you will find 10% off coupon for Lowe's and many times Home Depot will accept the Lowe's coupon. Just check with your store.
