Get Your FREE Pet Exam Coupon

Someone told me about this today, saved me $50! You get a free office visit if its your first time. I know the economy is tough for many people, so I just wanted to spread the news for anyone who has been hesitant to take their pet to the vet.

These coupons are ongoing, and they do try to sell you extra services. I took my cat there for a free office vist, and that's what he got. They wanted me to have him tested for leukemia and get his shots while he was there. I made an appointment to have his shots done, just to shut them up, but cancelled the appointment the next day.

I think the vets are pretty good, though, but they're young, possibly right out of school. But you've got to start somewhere to get experience, and start paying the student loans.

But that's also not his regular vet.

You're welcome everyone. I just took mine to Banefield. I found out my puppy has Giardia. My vet was in his late 50's I'm assuming. The nurse tried to sell me on the preventive care plans they have. It's sort of like preventive health insurance starting at $30/month. Other than that, the visit went seem less. They didn't even know I had the coupon until I checked out. I'm sure each place varies though.

My office visit was $45, but with the coupon, it came to zero. All the vets that I've seen working at a Banfield, look like they're just out of school. But that's not to say that they're not qualified.

Sorry about your puppy, Jonathon. It's very common in pups -- and, actually, it's the most common intestinal parasite in people too. Very easily treated. I'm sure they told you how dogs get it (usually by sniffing other dogs' poop). Has your puppy had diarrhea?
