The radar in my area looks bad but all I've had has been a steady, but light, sprinkle all day long. Weatherman says this is the calm before the storm.

Queenie needs to go out -- she keeps asking me to open the back door -- but dobermans are convinced they'll melt if they get wet. I keep telling her it's only going to get worse for the next couple of days, but she doesnt believe me.

Camper, My daughter keeps her dog on leash all the time, even though she has great voice control over him and he'd never run away. What she doesnt like about state parks is that dogs cant go into the bathrooms or other buildings in the park -- and her dog has separation anxiety if she leaves him in the car.

Thanks, dear Bob. The hurricane was kind to Mexico -- it missed the resort areas and the port areas and, for the places it did hit, it left minimal damage and no injuries or deaths. Apparently the mountains impacted its strength dramatically. I had been praying for the people in its path because those are the poorer areas and the houses are not made to withstand serious storms.

Dallas was really hit with the rain. There was a lot around my place, too, but nothing flooded. Another batch is coming in around 7:30 tonight and supposedly will linger through Sunday. I'm snug as a bug in a rug. Knock on wood.

We got another 1/2 inch this afternoon. for a total of 5 1/s inches. Lots of flooding in town but not as bad as years gone past. Our yard has had about all it can take. I am more than willing to share if anyone needs any...

Ketabcha glad things are good with you and hope you get some TFW46 but not pounded.

You must be getting more rain than I'm getting, Camper. It's been drizzling all day but nothing more than a drizzle. My street is more dry than wet.

The weatherman says this drizzle is not from the hurricane yet, as it's still 1,000 miles away. But he's admitting now that it doesnt look like we'll be getting all the rain that was predicted and that it should stop by tomorrow noon (they had originally said it would rain through Monday).

Queenie still wont go out. She's starting to cross her back legs.

Aw, poor thing. My little Bruiser won't go out when the weathers bad but Bailey just goes barreling out and does what she needs to.

Took Bruiser to the vet for his yearly shots and found he has severe cataracts in both eyes. Gave us some drops that should help but said he is 16...

16! Wow, how wonderful. So sorry about the cataracts -- almost all old dogs get them. If you havent noticed any behavioral changes in him (bumping into furniture, hesitancy to go into new places, etc), the cataracts must have developed slowly enough that he's been able to adjust well.

Queenie is almost 15, which is unheard of in large dogs. She has cataracts too, but she can still find a treat on the floor in the dark very easily.

Well, it stopped raining. About 12 hours of very light drizzle and that's all. Apparently a few places in this city that flood if the humidity is high flooded yesterday but that was all. Much ado about nothing.

Queenie still wont go out in the back yard to potty. I even went out there with her to show her that it's not raining anymore -- but she must feel the humidity or smell the dampness or something because she just stands at the door, whining. Eventually, she'll get desperate enough to go out.

You had a lot more rain than I did, Camper. And, of course, Ketabcha, you got the most rain of all.

It was great to see rain after so long but now the clean up begins. Tipping over all things that have gathered water and mud splatter everywhere. Mind you I'm not complaining...

Bruiser seems to be better now that we have moved back into the main part of the house but the renovations were hard on him.
We moved everything into the sun room for use during the day and he couldn't find anything, Mind you it looked like an episode of Hoarders and I couldn't find anything either.

He's got a long life yet to be lived!
