Hello, my friends. Just want to let you know I'm thinking about our friends in Texas, hoping you guys stay safe!
Thanks so much, Starr. We're drying out. We really needed the rain.
I never got much rain, just @ 36 hours of drizzle. But other areas, including my daughter's, got a lot of rain. And we're supposed to get it again, from Friday night through Saturday night.

Well we had an interesting time getting out of town Friday morning with all the flooding. A smart person would have just not gone but not my adventures hubby and I. lol
It took us over 4 hours to travel what should have taken 45 minutes. I don't think I have seen such devastation in a long time. We we finally made it to the park I had reservations at, we found out they were actually closing the park and sending everyone out because the septic had flooded. No damage to the park itself but it's a health department thing. And yes, I had been trying to call...
but onward we go and I found us another state park to go to. The main entrance was closed due to flooding but the park itself is high up so it was all good and dry , except for all the mud from the rain of course.. The weather cleared up, the mud dried up we had fires and the weekend was perfect!!!

Texas, gotta love it.
I'm so glad you were able to salvage the camping trip, Camp.
Yesterday I drove to Dallas to visit with a friend who was having six hours of chemo in the hospital that day. I was so surprised at the water still on the ground in these parts. Yesterday morning we had thick fog and again this morning, too. That rarely happens around here. More rain is coming in.
I know it won't happen but it sure would be nice if heavy rains would spread out during the drought. Oh well, it's a thought, anyway.
I agree about spreading it out, Ketabcha. I think your area has had the most rain, overall, this past summer and now. Someone who was on a plane said that he couldnt believe how much flooding was still in your area.
Camper's area was hard-hit last weekend and I cant believe you actually went camping, Camper!
My city had a lot of rain but not my immediate area -- I got only a slight shower or two. Since the rain was coming from the north and west, I thought I'd get some of it for sure -- but the western wet stuff split up when it hit the city and went north and south, leaving my neighborhood dry. And anythign coming from the north never makes it this far south.
