How are you doing?

Happy Thanksgiving all.

Glad to help TFW (I didn't realize it was your sister that lived near me - or maybe you only have one?) - I'm sure it will help her mentally to do something like that as well as helping others - it's a terrible thing that seems to have taken over the younger generation.

Anyway: I had my 2nd follow-up Dr. visit today - they cut off the dressing and I was surprised that it wasn't nearly as swollen as I'd expected! I still have a good deal of swelling over the joint and a lot of pain in it when "raising my toes" - I realized I was doing that when walking in my fashionable boot - she said it's because of scar tissue and I have to manually pull up that toe to the pain point and then hold for a count of 10 - do this multiple times a day and it will help break up the scar tissue (I can hardly wait, LOL) - try to wear a hard-soled shoe, I can shower but not "soak" it as in a bath or actually soaking in a basin. No driving for 2 more weeks - another appt. 2 weeks from today and she said I should be able to drive then - I hope!! Best part: I don't have to ice it anymore - that was painful as there is arthritis in that joint and it hurt - plus the icebag the hospital gave me leaked in the middle of the night a few days ago. I'm not doing anything tomorrow - the family that we always spend the holidays with is West of here and since I can't drive anyway.... Going to take it easy as the contractors won't be coming in either

Making another paragraph just to break this up: looking forward to sleeping normally w/o having to keep foot up on two pillows and an ice bag!! Taking it easy tomorrow (I have passed the word around for someone/anyone to save me some turkey!! You all are welcome to mail me turkey and "fixins" LMAO - hope everyone enjoys the day and gets to spend time w/loved ones.

Flamingo, yes, it's my sister who lives close to you whose daughter died. Sounds like your recovery is going great, for which I'm very thankful.

And Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!

Please say a prayer for Lulu. I found a really large lump on her abdomen this morning and took her to the vet. He thinks it's malignant and found another lump close to it. I have to drop her off Monday morning for him to do bloodwork and take full-body xrays. The xrays will tell him if it's metastasized, which he seems to suspect it has. If it has, he wont even do surgery.

I've had her only since February and am so sad. This is what happens when you adopt older dogs.

You have given her a wonderful, loving home for nearly a year, TFW. She has been loved and well cared for and has provided a lot of grins. Please let us know what the doc has to say on Monday. My fingers are crossed.

When my Annie was diagnosed with the same thing last year she didn't have surgery. She lived for 7 months without any pain or discomfort at all. I'm with you hoping for the best for Miss Lulu.
