Arghhh...there have been least 5,000 fireworks going off in my neighborhood for the past 6 hours. Poor Lulu. Even the maximum xanax prescribed by her veterinarian isnt keeping her calm tonight. Oh well, the new year will be better.

I wonder if everyone could you please say a prayer or send positive vibes for my two adult daughters? The older one drove down from Idaho for the holidays and, while she was here, she decided to buy a trailer to tow back some of her stored furniture. Then my younger daughter, who retired from the army as a major and who has towing experience, took the older one out to give her some towing lessons and realized that the older girl cant do it. So the younger girl is putting her life on hold to tow the trailer back north for her sister. After the tow is complete, she'll fly back.

They’re leaving the day after tomorrow. I know my younger daughter can do anything and has hauled trailers previously but I still worry so much about their crossing the mountains and driving straight through 24/7 (the younger daughter never stops for anything except gas and food). I also worry about crime on the highways. Neither daughter wants to hear that a mother worries so I'm telling youall: I'm so worried.

Wouldn't let me rep you again - but TRY to think positive! (and there isn't all that much crime on highways!) - Keeping positive thoughts

Thanks so much, Flamingo. I usually dont worry about anything but the idea of two women, my only children, towing a heavy 16' trailer 2,500 miles in the winter -- across snow, ice and mountains -- is scary.

Their trip is going to turn out well. I can feel it in my bones, TFW.

I know it sounds mystic and Ouija-board-ish but sometimes I can predict things. Inherited that from my maternal grandmother. It does not happen all that often and I'm glad it doesn't because it is not a gift but rather a curse of sorts. Still, the predictions are usually very positive.

So, now that everyone thinks I am totally nuts I will reiterate the fact that your daughters will have no problems at all on their trip(s). Tell them to take a lot of bottled water with them.

The Great Magistro has spoken.

Thanks SO much, Ketabcha. I take great comfort in your prediction.

The two girls have not spoken to each other in 25+ years. The older one can have a superior attitude and made some terribly judgmental comments to the younger one all those years ago. As a result, the younger one has wanted nothing to do with her. I've been praying to my favorite saint St Jude (patron saint of the impossible) every day for 25+ years for their reconciliation. Now I pray that they get to their destination safely.

TFW, please let us know when they are safe ! I do agree with The great Magistro that it will have a good ending and they may even make some memories.

Hey Magistro, please don't look into my future. I have big dream ( illusions maybe) and don't want to pop my bubble!!

I am so proud of my Baxter on his first New years eve!! It's a war zone over here and the smoke is sooo thick. He looked up a few times but then just ignored them.

All is well here. The construction hasn't started yet but i think we have everything out of the way and are ready for it all to start. Just waiting on insurance.

Thanks, Camper. I'm so glad that Baxter wasnt intimidated by the fireworks.
Good luck on your construction!
