I highly recommend the "Linda Darby" series by David Bishop.
I've read book one and just finished book two. Now I am starting book 3 "The First Lady's Second Man."
These books are not chic lit. They are exciting mysteries with a lot of action and some truly wonderful characters.

Each book can stand alone but it's best to start with book 1 because the two main characters are in all three books and their history is unusual.

Actually, as a hobby I was a book reviewer for the local newspaper for about 10 years. I loved doing it. I was paid $75.00 per review and I got to keep the book. I would have done it for free. I had a bodacious time.
