I wonder why for the last couple of days, there have been fewer categories. It looks like the fantasy and mystery/thriller categories are gone. I guess there were no free books in those.

I noticed that too. I prefer History and various non-fiction, but the pickins seem slim lately. I don't know how Amazon works, so I'm curious as well. I'm assuming it's up to the author to offer up the free books, but maybe there's more to it... like something in their contract with Amazon?

But I've got a ton of free books thanks to MP1 and this page, so we ain't complainin'.

Java and Rowan, you can actually do a search on Amazon for the freebies in the genres you like. Go here:

Then click on the genre you're interested in (in the column on the left) and at the top under Best Sellers in Kindle ebooks, make sure you click on the tab titled 'Top 100 Free'. Only some of the books are pulled and posted here each day.
