DrJef said......I had thought the most traditionally upscale development in the beaches area was Henlopen Acres, and then you've got the monstrously expensive beach mansions in Rehoboth. What are the priciest/most exclusive developments southwest of the beaches?

Thought I'd expand on his thought:

Having been here forever, I'm rather bored with Henlopen Acres high end structures. Old news to me.

I'm now more impressed with The Peninsula on the Indian River Bay

Thanks, rdlr! I'll explore those links. Could be a fun side trip next time we're down the beaches.

You're Welcome! There are other very nice, and unique areas, but I'm most familiar with these. Beartrap Dunes is a huge subdivision, but appears like a little town, with a shopping center, brick streets, old fashioned street lights, and even continuous shuttles to the beach. Their clubhouse looks like an old fashioned town hall, kind of like the one in Paynters Mill in Milton. There are sections comprised of various styles of houses - some are similar to the Sears Kit 1900's era, some more modern.

Needless to say, the grounds in each of these subdivisions is kept in pristine condition.

I had just mentioned in another thread that Oprah and Tiger own homes in The Peninsula. I would say that indicates "upscale".
