Ha.. Most locals ( old timers and young ) i have known that has lived there their whole life has always been strongly opposed to the development etc especially down towards the coast. All the development along 113/13 just outside the city itself is what killed Dover. Thus why we now have rt1 which as you know many fought especially up towards the Canal/Smyrna.. Amazing how that works? Some people did not care for the development along the highway ( traffic ) yet turn around and fight the thing that would help with the traffic some and thus the highway..lol Ofcourse yeah i know it was mostly the businesses who fought the freeway. The rest were just those who did not want the freeway in their backyard and the environmental people. What has all that done btw? Helped? Negative? I worked for a season at the track/casino there as a waiter.. So i only saw the very beginnings of that in the 90s/early 200s. I use to hate driving through there going to Philly etc prior to that freeway being built during the summers. Always snarled.. Started right before you got to the base from the south.. I don't miss that..

Me and my friends use to drive up there from OC to shop etc in the winter when the resorts got quiet. Was there or Salisbury..Once in a while to Christiana or DC area..
