I will be moving from Durham NC to Dover because of a job transfer, My husband and I would like to live in a small town outside of Dover. We would love to live in a small town with a nice downtown, with shops and restaurants. Also if anyone knows of a great realtor that would be helpful also. Thanks

Camden-Wyoming (two contiguous small towns near Dover) resident rdlr will no doubt be along to give you some recommendations. Realtor recommendations have to be DM'd -- they aren't allowed to be posted on the forum itself. In any event, I would suggest you check into Milford, a small town but one large enough to provide what you seem to be seeking. It's a bit farther from Dover than Camden-Wyoming, but still would not be a difficult commute. A close-in small town also is Magnolia, but based on driving through there, it doesn't seem to me to provide much in the way of amenities, although it is close enough to get into Dover with great ease. Frankly, Dover seems to me more of a sprawling town than a city -- certainly much smaller than Durham and way smaller than the Triangle area taken as a whole.

Again, I would suggest checking into Milford, as well. If you want a small town downtown, shops and restaurants, Milford would be a more likely choice, I think.
